The Human Centipede 2

It’s not much of a trailer, but I’m sure it can’t top A Serbian Film—trust me.

From Tom Six:

THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE 2: (FULL SEQUENCE) is without doubt, the most original and demented horror film for many a decade - sick, twisted, deranged, perverse, it is a film that only surgery will remove from your mind.

This film has been banned by the British Board of Film Classification on the grounds that they could not find anything to cut from the film - meaning that the whole film should have been cut - believe it or not!

What you see here are real reactions to Six’s macabre mind-twister coupled with genuine extracts taken from the BBFC’s letter declaring the film unsuitable for classification in Britain.

It’s I Am Legend with a couple of Valley Girls from the 80s. So good.

Timecrimes

This is one of those movies where I accidentally hit play on Netflix and I was sucked in. It’s a great Sci-Fi flick and one that I highly recommend.

Rotten Tomatoes:

An ordinary guy takes an extraordinary step through time in this science fiction thriller. Hector (Karra Elejalde) is spending a few days in the countryside with his girlfriend, Clara (Candela Fernndez), when he sees something that catches his attention while playing with his binoculars. Looking at a nearby house near a wooded area, Hector spies a beautiful woman taking her clothes off, and decides to take a stroll and give her a closer look. However, when he arrives at the house several minutes later, the woman is lying in the grass and appears to either be dead or passed out. As Hector examines her, he’s attacked by a strange man and flees on foot. Hector seeks refuge in a building that turns out to be a research facility owned by a mysterious scientist (Nacho Vigalondo), who gives him a place to hide inside a futuristic closet. However, Hector realizes it was actually a time-travel machine when he emerges a few minutes later and looks out the window to see himself standing over the unconscious woman in the distance. Los Cronocrimenes (aka Timecrimes) was the first feature film from writer and director Nacho Vigalondo, who also appears as the scientist.

Mother (Madeo)

I watched this movie a few months ago and forgot to share it. I firmly believe that South Korean films, within the last 10 years, have really out done American and European films.

From Rotten Tomatoes:

A woman devoted to her son struggles to keep him from spending his life in prison in this drama from director Bong Joon-ho. Do-jun (Weon Bin) is a man in his mid-twenties who isn’t especially bright and is easily led. Do-jun lives with his elderly mother (Kim Hye-ja), who loves him fiercely even though she has no illusions about his abilities or his bad habits. Do-jun spends much of his spare time with Jin-tae (Jin Gu), a borderline criminal who takes advantage of Do-jun’s credulous nature, much to his mother’s annoyance.

Mesrine

I waited anxiously waited for this movie to hit the local theater and was bummed out that they only had the first part of the series. But, now it’s on Netflix and now no one has an excuse to not watch it.

From Rotten Tomatoes:

This tough and gritty French-language crime drama represents the premier installment in a two-part series of features on the life and doings of notorious Gallic hood Jacques Mesrine (1936-1979). Mesrine is played, in both installments, by actor Vincent Cassel, who reportedly underwent massive weight gain and weight loss to convincingly portray the volatile Mesrine at various periods of his life.

I Saw The Devil

I checked out this movie the other night and it is probably one of the best film’s in the last six months, next to Mesrine Public Enemy #1, that I have watched. I’m always a sucker Korean revenge-thriller movies.

From Rotten Tomatoes:

I SAW THE DEVIL is a shockingly violent and stunningly accomplished tale of murder and revenge from Korean genre master KIM Jee-woon (The Good, The Bad, The Weird and A Tale of Two Sisters). Oldboy’s CHOI Min-sik plays Kyung-chul, a dangerous psychopath who kills for pleasure. The embodiment of pure evil, he has committed horrifying and senselessly cruel serial murders on defenseless victims, successfully eluding capture by the police.

Dogtooth

One of the most original movies I have watched in a long time. This movie goes beyond the perverse. I can only hope that American cinema leave this one only when it comes to remakes.

Thirteen

This movie has everybody from Mickey Rourke, Ray Winstone, Sam Riley, Jason Statham to Eric from True Blood and Michael Shannon of Boardwalk Empire.

Rotten Tomatoes:

An aimless 20-year-old with a penchant for following the rules receives a mysterious set of instructions that lead him down a path from which he may never return in director GÃ (C)la Babluani’s tense tale of death and chance. SÃ (C)bastien has come into possession of a train ticket and a mysterious set of instructions. Though he is unsure of exactly what fate awaits him when he arrives at his destination, one thing is certain: these items were most certainly not meant for him. Bored by his uneventful existence and hungering for something new, SÃ (C)bastien boards the outbound train and takes his first bold steps into an unknown future. But the world can be a cruel and unforgiving place filled with unfeeling men to whom human life means little more than a lost wager, and if SÃ (C)bastien is to make it through his harrowing journey alive he must keep his wits about him and pray that luck is on his side. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Thirst
We finished watching this movie a earlier today and we are glad that we chose this over that other movie. I didn’t expect anything less from the Director of Oldboy and thankfully enough he has brought the same caliber of work into this movie. Like most of his films, he brings a great deal of extreme shock value in the most subtle fashion.
On a side note, I find it interesting that with every new Twilight series movie that comes out another vampire movie is released around the same time and trumps it by far.
If you have the time, or would like a few movie recommendations, I suggestion you check out the Vengeance Trilogy done by the same director of this movie.
