Saw this killer GTO in the neighbor hood a couple of weeks ago. It’s perfect and I have no idea why the owner would just park that beautiful piece of metal on the street side. That should be locked up in the garage until the next go around.

A new method of evading prohibition agents was revealed here today by A.L. Allen, state prohibition enforcement director, who displayed what he called a “cow shoe” as the latest thing front the haunts of moonshiners.

The cow shoe is a strip of metal to which is tacked a wooden block carved to resemble the hoof of a cow, which may be strapped to the human foot. A man shod with a pair of them would leave a trail resembling that of a cow.

The shoe found was picked up near Port Tampa where a still was located some time ago. It will be sent to the prohibition department at Washington. Officers believe the inventor got his idea from a Sherlock Holmes story in which the villain shod his horse with shoes the imprint of which resembled those of a cow’s hoof.

Flower Garden Weekend

Last weekend we decided to check out the newly remodeled and reopened McKinley Park Rose Garden. It is not a very large garden, but it is very vibrant and a nice place just to catch your breath.

If you are in the East Sacramento area stop by and smell the roses. OH! I had to throw that in there.

“Postcard From 1952” - Explosions in The Sky

This is a perfect marriage between the video and the music. For most music videos—now a days—the music almost acts and plays second fiddle leaving the music video to be fully absorbed and losing the thought put into the music.

I appreciate the director giving this video a push and pull relationship where we have to follow, and share our attention to, both the video and music.

This was on heavy rotation when it first came out, and I have a feeling this album will be on heavy rotation this week. Camp Lo was never able to recreate the same magic they did with Uptown Saturday Night, but I suppose if you’re going to have a one hit album it better have the same magnitude as this one.

Gay-rights activists have widely believed that the president privately supported same-sex marriages, but withheld a public declaration out of concerns about alienating independent voters in key swing states.

There is a movement among activists in the party to adopt a so-called “marriage equality” plank in the official platform this summer. Such language would mark the continuance of the party’s own evolution. In 2000, the Democratic platform stated simply that the party supported “the full inclusion of gay and lesbian families in the life of the nation,” and “an equitable alignment of benefits.”

In 2004, in the face of an effort supported by the Bush campaign to put gay marriage bans to statewide referendums across the country, the Democratic platform stated that marriage “has been defined at the state level for 200 years, and we believe it should continue to be defined there.”

By 2008, the party vowed to “enact a comprehensive bipartisan employment non-discrimination act,” and opposed the Defense of Marriage Act “and all attempts to use this issue to divide us.”
