A two-colour blue and black on white cardstock 20x22” silkscreened print, will be part of the upcoming Fantagraphics Beasts! book, Volume 2, in December of 2008. From an edition of 36.
Visit Fantagraphics at www.fantagraphics.com if you’re curious about what exactly the book is, but note it’s a collection of 100 or so contemporary artists and illustrators, each drawing a different mythical beast. I chose the ancient Babylonian Lamassu, a classical temple guard with the body of a giant cat, wings of an eagle, and the beard and head of a grizzled old man. Not bad?
Not my first choice of monster, but I made the mistake of being on honeymoon when the offer came. So, I missed out on the northern and flesh-eating weindego. So it goes.
Sold without the frame, of course.
